My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Wonderful Willow would like to find a family to spend her golden years with, and she wants her new people to know these 10 things about her:

I am a super senior Mastiff mix, and I weigh about 120lbs.

Even though the hair on my feet and face has turned gray, I still have loads of energy and excellent mobility, and I am super healthy. I have lots of love and life to give!

I came from a really bad situation. I was owned by a notorious dog hoarder and one day, another dog beat me up pretty badly. Instead of getting me medical attention, my old owner took me to the pound to be euthanized. Luckily, the nice people there knew what was going on, and they got me straight to the veterinarian. As soon as I started feeling better, I made my way down to The Bullpen.

I am a confident and friendly girl that warms up to new people quickly. Although I do like to play, I honestly prefer a calm and laid-back environment. An adult-only home would be ideal, but I think I could live in a home with children over 12, as long as they weren’t too loud or rambunctious and had some previous experience/training with big dogs.

I wouldn’t mind being the only pet in the house, but I think it would be alright if my new family had a large, laid-back, easy-going male dog that I could hang out with. Given my previous bad experience with other dogs, I will definitely need a very slow introduction to other canines so that I can feel safe and secure.

I’m not really sure how I feel about cats, but I do sometimes like to chase the barn cats here at the sanctuary. A feline-free home may be the best option for me.

The words that best describe me are mellow, social, and affectionate.

My favorite things are eating, exploring outside in the yard, and getting attention and affection from people.

I am housebroken, crate-trained, and I know how to use a dog door. I have excellent doggy manners, and I am perfection on a leash.

I am fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, spayed, and microchipped.
