Helllllooooo everybody! My name is BIRDY The Perfect Lap Dog! I'm a 5 year old Terrier girl and weigh about 20lbs....which is the perfect size for snuggling with!
So just a bit about me, I'm a bit shy especially when I first meet you. That's pretty normal, who isn't shy when they meet new friends right? Once I get to know you though, I'm a real love bug. To be honest, I haven't had an easy life so I do tend to prefer women over men, so ladies who are looking for a soul sister, I'm your gal!
I'd prefer a home with a family who are at least 16 years old as I can be wary of too much affection at times. I can be snappish when I just need some me time, which is why I don't want a noisy home with rambunctious young children. I'd also like a detached house with a fenced in yard as I can get a bit upset when my family goes out and sometimes sing the song of my people to express my sadness.
I am completely housetrained and sleep very well at night. I enjoy my walks on leash although I can get startled with loud noises or strangers. I haven't hung out with many dogs and would prefer to be the only pet in my home because I want all my humans' love and attention. I'm very smart and motivated to learn especially when treats and kindness are at hand. Right now I'm working with a trainer to overcome the fears of my past life and be the best dog I can be!
I hope that there's a family out there that will continue working with my trainer to overcome my past and help me realize that a brighter loving future is ahead of me!

Our adoption fees are as follows:
$800 for puppies (approx. 1 year and under)
$750 for adults (2-6 years)
$600 for seniors (7 years and up)
All new pet parents will receive 6 weeks complimentary Pet Secure Accident and Illness Protection for any dog adopted from Just Paws. Once activated, the trial will cover veterinary bills up to $500.00 for accidents or illnesses, excluding pre-existing conditions. Please note that Just Paws is not responsible for insurance issues that may arise with your chosen veterinarian
