My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Intake Date: 14 Feb 2021----- Age: 1 yr ----- Breed: Chow Chow Mix----- Size: 80 lbs ----- Status: Owner Surrender ----- Compatible with: children, has only been tested with larger dogs and does well, and has not been cat tested thoroughly yet ----- Suitable for: home with fenced yard ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: Came to rescue with a damaged, infected leg. Had to undergo an amputation. Tri-pod ----- Additional Notes: Brother is an adorable fluff ball chow chow mix that came to rescue after being what appears to be an injury after being caught in a trap. He had a pretty severe infection and his leg was not salvageable so it was amputated. He is getting around really well on three legs and is a TOTAL LOVER! This boy has a bit of separation anxiety we think but he has been overall, a great boy to have around. He is very needy and lovey and likes to be near his people. He is also very mouthy and likes to hang onto our sleeves, or hands, etc when we walk. We are working on the "no jumping" because he is a big boy and it's not respectful behavior. He has been tested with medium to large dogs and does well with them. He was around cats when his cone was on but since removal, we have not thoroughly tested him. He may have some food possession issues, but we don't feed animals together here and do not recommend it anyways for adopters. Dogs deserve to have their own food bowl when they eat too! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting, please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption can be finalized at that time. FBS standard adoption fee is $175. All residents are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. A secure physically fenced yard is required.
