Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Caramello is a Domestic Short Hair (DSH), female, DOB: 6/4/18.
As gentle as they come and a sensitive feline, Caramello can be a little hesitant when presented with unfamiliar situations but her super-friendly, loving nature makes it impossible for her to play coy for long. Definitely liking attention, she will readily approach people to give and receive affection; and with a few soft-spoken words of encouragement she will become quite engaging. Caramello also enjoys being a lap cat and loves to bond by having her coat softly brushed.
An extremely sweet-natured, occasionally playful, mostly easy-going, always endearing and entirely easy-to-please cat – Caramello is a committed snuggler who is highly social and affectionate with people she is familiar with. Straight-up a fawning and faithfully devoted people-cat -- she is also a committed snuggler who is also very warm-hearted and enthusiastically affectionate with people she knows and trusts.
Caramello came to Monroe SPCA from animal control – we suspected she was pregnant at the time of her rescue, but veterinary diagnostics told us she was in the early stages of Pyometra (infection of the uterus). After an emergency spay surgery to remove her uterus, she was able to recover without further issues in a medical foster home. She was treated for malnourishment, Giardia, Coccidia, fleas, and Tape and Roundworm as well while with us.
Now a fully healed, happy, and confident feline, Caramello is currently on a special diet, along with daily exercise to help her get to her desired weight. As a bigger cat, she's looking for a forever family to welcome and embrace her as a life-long, beloved companion and family member, while at the same time, help her stay active and have her grooming needs met.
Caramello currently resides at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store. You can meet her by appointment with pre-approved adoption application. To start the adoption process, complete and submit Monroe SPCA’s adoption application linked above.
All Monroe SPCA cats available for adoption have an adoption fee of $85.00. This fee includes the cat being spayed or neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped with lifelong registration prior to adoption.
Completed applications can be emailed to info@monroespca.org or dropped off at Monroe SPCA’s Adoption Center and Retail Store located at 293 W. Monroe Street, Dundee, MI.
