My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

In Southern terms, Ajay is a tall, cool drink of water. He is a handsome boy who is also very intelligent. Ajay is a goofball in the yard and loves to run. He also has an excellent off switch where he just wants to snuggle.

Ajay had a rough start to life and has a few behavioral issue which his foster is helping him through. He is having difficulty greeting strangers and is learning that humans can be trusted. Any potential adopters will have to be very patient with meeting Ajay. It will probably take multiple visits before Ajay will trust anyone new. Ajay has seeked out professional training for his "stranger danger" issues. His adopter will have two free sessions with the professional trainer. Ajay will need a strong but patient leader to guide him.

Ajay would not be good in a home with cats or kids because he can get overwhelmed quickly. He would prefer a quiet home where he can decompress easily. Ajay does play well with medium to large dogs but needs slow and proper introduction to any new play buddies."

Thank you for your interest in one of our Hero Babies! Before inquiring, we thought it was important to share a few of our policies.

Your Current Pets - We do require that all of your current dogs and cats are current on vaccines and spayed/neutered.

Adoptions - We do not have a shelter and are a foster-home based organization. We do require that you have an approved adoption application to schedule a meet and greet. You can fill out an adoption application on our website, www.herorescue.org/adopt. Once your application is approved it will be sent to the foster family that is currently caring for the dog. They will be able to provide information on likes, dislikes, personality, etc. They will also schedule a time for you to meet the dog. We do require a homecheck prior to adoption.

Inquiries - If you would like more information on any dogs in the rescue, please email us at info@herorescue.org.
