Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Birdie is a super sweet and friendly Great Dane who is 120 pounds and 3 years old. She is a world class snuggler and loves to curl up for a good nap. She gets along with other dogs, but can be bossy to other female dogs that are smaller. She would do best with male dogs or dogs her size. She is spayed, up to date on shots, tested heartworm negative, and microchipped with free registration. She comes with her medical records and interstate health certificate from his veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies her to be in good condition. Our dogs also come with free 30-days of health insurance which reimburses you for any vet you use for illnesses and injuries which commence during that period, as per the directions in the flier which comes in your adoption packet.
Birdie is one of a select few of our rescues whom we believe are purebred or a popular designer blend which we adopt out at a near market rate in order to use those funds to finance our program of readying additional dogs, puppies and kittens which we prepare, transport and adopt out in the northern United States. Our goal is to get as many homeless animals out of South Texas, where we have a severe pet overpopulation crisis (due mostly to our temperate weather where strays breed year-round and don’t tend to perish due to cold weather.) The oil crash, combined with the COVID-19 situation, has made pet homelessness even more dire in South Texas.
Her adoption fee is $1000 firm. She is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $500, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The adopter will receive a donation form for tax purposes as the adopter sees fit, since a component of the fee is a donation to help fund our transport and adoption of more dogs, puppies, cats and kittens from Texas. The balance is due upon delivery. Should you find that she is not a good fit for your family, we are happy to take her back in and refund the entire $1500 upon her return. We can either pick her up on our next trip up, or we can connect you with a foster family to whom you may return her.
If you are serious about making an exclusive hold deposit, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com or text or call 832-338-7041. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Holds are handled on a first-come, first-served basis with respect to the first person to place an exclusive hold deposit as instructed by the rescue. Once you have made the deposit, it is refundable so long as you show up to meet the dog on the agreed date. Prior notification of an intended no-show/non-delivery does not constitute showing up.
