My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Scrappy! I know what you’re thinking, this dog is a year old, he can’t be any fun... Well you would be wrong! I was found as a very scared stray in Oklahoma and I never got to be a puppy, so I am making up for lost time now. I am happy and smiling and looking to play at all times! I am incredibly goofy and have the biggest personality! I love to chew, chase balls, and romp with my foster dog siblings. I do try to play with the kitties in my foster home but they don’t really like me. I’m not mean to them and I don’t chase them, but I can’t always tell when they would rather not interact with me. I play and play, but when I do finally run out of energy, I turn into a huge cuddle monster and LOVE laying with my foster mom on the couch, or if I’m very good, in the bed. I’m getting to know that living in a house is pretty great! I am doing really well with potty training as long as I go out regularly. I am crate trained and have made my foster mom so proud by having NO accidents in my crate at all! When I’m outside I walk very well on a leash even though I do like to wander slowly sometimes, but I definitely don’t pull! I would love to have playmates in my forever home. I tend to bond very strongly to one person and really would do best in a single adult home. I just want that one special person in my life that I can explore the world with together. I am really just a puppy in a grown dog body, and I promise that if you make me part of your life I will love you completely and make you laugh every single day! Scrappy came from rural southern Oklahoma where he was found as a stray, starved & had patches of missing fur. He wandered up to a farm house and found refuge from the cold winter in their garage. No one claimed him so they reached out for our help. Scrappy is a male Feist mix, weighs 28 lbs and was born approximately 2-15-20. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, given flea/tick preventative, dewormed, tested negative for heartworm disease & given a Proheart injection for 6 months of heartworm preventative. Adoption fee is $250 to help offset the many expenses we have for vetting costs. We rely strictly on adoption fees and donations to continue to save the lives of orphaned & abandoned pets; 100% goes towards their care. If interested in adopting one of our available dogs or puppies, you must first complete an online adoption application at https://dollyslegacyanimalrescue.org/adopt/ You will be contacted by our adoption coordinator via email after your application has been reviewed & approved to schedule an appointment. Our website is updated daily, pets that are listed are still available.
