Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Bishop - Needs Foster or Forever home
Male
Pit bull type dog
About 6 years old
House trained
Crate trained
Walks well on a leash
Knows basic commands
Can live happily with another dog of similar size
Needs a home with older children
Up to date with vaccines
Neutered
Bishop came to us as an owner surrender. He had been rescued from a bad situation by a Good Samaritan who could not keep him. We saw him advertised on a free pets' site and contacted the owner, who was thankfully was willing to work with a rescue.
After spending time in boarding while we searched for a foster home for him, Bishop has spent time in foster-based training. He has done great!
Bishop loves his walks, and needs a family who will take him on adventures and continue to introduce him to new people, places, and things.
He would love a family who is at home for at least part of the day - a stay-at-home parent, a retired person or couple, or someone who works from home would be ideal for him. He is happiest when he is with people.
He is an absolutely wonderful, happy, affectionate dog who will make a wonderful family member.

2.
Home Check
After we process the application, including vet and personal references, we visit your home to see where our pet would be living.
3.
Meet the Pet
Once the application and home check are approved, we bring the pet to your home to meet all family members and other pets.
Additional adoption info
Anyone wanting to adopt one of our animals must first fill out an application. We check personal, vet, and landlord references (if applicable). If the application is approved we will schedule a home visit by one of our volunteers. Once you are fully approved to adopt, we will schedule a meet and greet with the dog in our rescue, and all family members and other pets. If everyone agrees, you will be able to adopt.
We do not transport our dogs out of state. Anyone living outside of CT within the New England area will need to come to CT for the meet and greet and adoption, once an application is approved. We do not adopt our dogs to families living outside of the New England area.

We are an animal rescue working to save animals from bad situations, care for any medical or behavioral needs, and place them in wonderful forever homes. Dogs in our rescue mainly come from municipal pounds within CT. We also take owner surrenders and occasionally will take dogs from outside of CT, if we have room in the rescue and the dog's or cat's situation is urgent.
We are approved as a 501c3 public charity by the Internal Revenue Service, are a tax exempt public charity with the State of CT, and hold an active CT animal import license.
