Here's what the humans have to say about me:
I was in a home that I was being cared for by an elderly person. My person had passed away so I needed to find a new forever home. The family contacted PAWS to help me find that forever home.
When I came into my new foster home I was feeling uncomfortable and nervous and spent the first few weeks hiding under the furniture. As time passed, I started to come out from under the furniture, showing an interest in wanting to be petted. I was more comfortable with my foster mom coming up to me to be petted, as I was laying around. I do need time to adjust to new people and places, so please be patient with me! I might initially hide under furniture, but with time and patience, I will feel much more comfortable wanting your attention to be petted.
I now enjoy being petted and will come up to you to have that happen! I will now also jump up and sit beside you so you can continue to pet me!
I have just recently started to meow to get your attention!
When my foster mom first brought me home, I was not comfortable with being held, but I now do not mind being held for a brief period of time. I am not much of a lap ca, but I will sit right beside you or fall asleep curled up next to you.
I prefer a quiet, calm environment. I am startled with loud noises or if people approach me too quickly; in addition, I also do not like a lot of activity going on around me.
I currently am in a foster home with multiple cats and a 8 lb dog. When the cats get close to me, it makes me uncomfortable so I prefer to be in a home without any other cats. I am fine being around the small dog.
I like to spend my time sitting or laying around, and not much into playing with toys.
If you would like an independent older cat that is loving, then I would be a great addition to your home! I hope you will consider me!
