Jake and Maggie are ready for adoption!
They are 4-5 month old dachshund mixes. We are unsure what the mix is, but we don't think they will be very big dogs when full grown. They are currently approx 15 pounds.
They are up to date on vaccines, wormed, spayed/neutered and microchipped.
We have their bacterial/ staph infection under control now and is 100% resolved. Feeding N & D grain free lamb and blueberry puppy food with 100% success. After adding and eliminating many different foods over the past 6 weeks, we finally found one that is specifically formulated for puppies and has added taurine. My goal was to figure out what to feed the, that would be "adopter friendly".
Jake and Maggie are good with other dogs, although Jake is way more confident, while Maggie is a little on the shy side initially, but with time and patience, she comes out of her shell and is well adjusted. They have been exposed to cats with no issues.
They are both great in the crate, will potty on puppy pads, but are not housebroken or leash trained.
Whoever is interested in adopting either one of them, must understand that the allergies are going to be a lifelong issue. They will require pet food that is a little more expensive than regular puppy/dog food, to prevent future skin issues and infection from scratching and chewing themselves.
These 2 are going to require some vigilance regarding their diet, but as long as you comply with the information I will provide, there shouldn't be any further issues.
