My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

I am Bogart! My foster mom says I am a very sweet and loving hound. I am a basset, but my foster mom thinks I might even have a little corgi in me.

I love to be around people. I don't require a lot of attention, but need the comfort of my people being around. I like to ride and I walk very well on a leash. I will eagerly come when called for attention. I am fairly sedate with age appropriate energy, and will even chase a ball on occasion. I love water and being squirted with a hose. I have learned verbal commands such as sit, speak, and return if my name is called.  I sleep near my foster mom on a doggie bed at night.

I can be a "grumpy old man" - I will growl mildly if I want to be left alone, but I have not shown any other aggression or bite tendency.  I have had a few accidents in the house, most likely related to my age.

My ideal forever home will be with an active retired person/couple who is around the home and will take me on walks and car rides. I prefer a home or apartment without a lot of stairs. I need a fenced yard or constant monitoring because I like to explore.
