Francesca, a sweet shy Nebelung mix, was found on Christmas Eve and got the best gift ever. A chance for a new life. Thanks to her foster, she will have no more lonely, cold, hungry days.
Francesca had a hard life and was out on her own for a long time. A neighbor has fed her for 4 years and the notch in her ear tells us at one point she was captured and spayed yet her house manners are perfect and at this point she has no desire to go out even with the door wide open (which of course we don't recommend).
We think Francesca is a Nebelung mix a rare pedigreed breed also known as a Longhair Russian Blue. Francesca is solid blue with long hair tipped with silver and stunning oval shaped green eyes.
Nebelungs are known for their good-natured personalities, and long, soft, silky coats. They are intelligent and often will bond with one family member but will be OK with others as well.
Francesca was so cold, thin, and matted, yet her foster was easily able to catch her and even on Christmas Eve was able to find a veterinarian who gave her a complete evaluation.
While most of her blood work and dental checked out. The vet discovered a manageable condition known as hyperthyroidism which explained why her appetite was ravenous yet she was so thin.
She now takes medication twice a day which she will need to continue. She has her thyroid checked every 3 weeks for now until she stabilizes to the correct dosage of meds. She also takes Cosequin for arthritis in her spine.
The vet thinks Francesca is about 10 years old. She's now is gaining weight and improving. She was found to be FIV/ FeLV negative, and is current on her vaccinations.
Francesca is easy to bathe and is amenable to handling. She was professionally groomed so her beautiful coat can start fresh. She will come with her "things" such as her bed, litter box, and favorite toys.
Francesca's foster loves her very much; however, there's already a cat and her foster just doesn't have the funds or time to care for 2 cats.
Francesca is OK with the other cat but stays in the bathroom and rarely ventures out into the hall. The only time she gets out is at night when she sleeps with her foster. She thrives on this attention.
It would be ideal for Francesca to have a quiet home with no current cat so she can have run of the house. With her previous difficult life, Francesca deserves to be cherished and loved by a special person(s) who can appreciate her sweet kind nature.
Francesca is spayed, vaccinated, FELV tested, dewormed, eats wet and dry food, and is litterbox perfect.
She currently lives with her owner in Concord .
