Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Available for adoption in Illinois
Meet Kip! Kip is a 2 year old Aussie and Border Collie mix. At 47lbs. He is lean and athletic! He is a mismarked black tri with his unique markings!
Kip has his master’s degree in manners in the house! He is also good on a leash, and knows all his basic commands. He is smart and will work for treats! He wants to learn SO much more and is so eager to please his human! He is working on his crate training, he doesn’t love the crate, but he also doesn’t hate it. He does get into mischief if he is home alone and not crated. He is SO happy to hop in the car and go on adventures and then at the end of the day is ready to relax and snuggle on the couch. He has a FABULOUS off switch!
He is a typical Velcro Aussie who will be happy to stand and watch his human cook in the kitchen or lay by their side while working. Kip is happy to see and play with other dogs outside, but he would be happiest to be the only pet in a home with no small children. He does not mind big people at all around food, but has concerns about sharing food with other animals.
Kip has a HIGH prey drive! He won’t let a 4 foot fence get in the way of his squirrel chasing, but will get happy zoomies in a yard with a 6 foot fence. His 47lb body is made for agility or any other dog sport, he would be so happy to have a teammate teach him the ropes of a dog sport! His foster mom has a good hunch that he likes water and likes to swim. Maybe dock diving is in his future? This sweetheart is ready for his forever home! He will reward his human by being the only dog with his undivided attention and love.
Does he sound like the right guy for you?
