NEEDS A SPECIAL ADOPTER HERO!!!

DATE:  FEB 17, 2021 (done by Sigrid):

Rubicon is a 3-year-old, 18.6 pound Beagle who is very skinny and needs to gain weight.  He was freewheeling and lost in a world of hurt, before he was found by a good Samaritan.  Animal control made sure that he got immediate veterinary attention and that no one was searching for him.  Even still, he came to us with a horrible wound on his back and was also infected with heart worms.

This poor guy is shy.  Who knows what happened to him when out on his own.  We only know he had been living with a large open wound on his back.  It looked as if he had been cut by something very sharp and his skin peeled apart down to muscle.

Rubicon could sure use a home where he can calmly go through his heart-worm treatment and learn to trust people.  Right now, even leashes scare him and he is not sure who to trust.  Yet he acts shyly, you can see by his gentle eyes that his heart is loving.

It is hard to resist his low slung beagle cuteness.  Hopefully, once his terrible wound heals, his handsome tri-color coat might be able to mend.

Anyone who adopts Rubicon will need to keep him very calm during his several month-long Heartworm treatments.  This being the case, he will not be able to have rousing play-times with other dogs or people.  Also, he will need to be taken to our vet for several injections (arranged and paid for by us).

Rubicon needs an adopter who wants to know what it feels like to be a hero.

If you would like to help us pay his medical bills, please go to our Help To Heal webpage for details.

BETTER PICTURES WILL BE FORTHCOMING.

NOTE: All animals are spayed/neutered as soon as practical after arriving at our facility unless there is a medical issue that may cause a delay or they are too young to be spayed/neutered.
