My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meow! My name is Mango and I’m here to share some tidbits about calico cats (like me). Did you know that male calicos are born sterile? Yup. Not that I have to worry about that since I’m a girl (and I’m spayed!). Calicos are the state symbol of Maryland (yup!). Also, the Maneki Neko figure, which is a good luck symbol in Japan, is traditionally modeled after Japanese Bobtails with calico colorings of red, black and white. Interesting, right?! You know what’s more interesting? I’m available for adoption!!

I am three years old and a svelte 7 pounds. Up until a few months ago, I was living in an outdoor cat colony, where I had limited but positive interactions with the humans who fed me. Living in a home has been a big change, but my foster parents say I am making great progress! I would do best as the only pet with an experienced cat owner who can continue to help me learn how to trust. I love getting pets from my foster parents, but I'm not too keen on getting picked up and handled just yet. My favorite thing ever is to listen to my foster dad play his guitar. Swoooon! So, if you want to change your luck and have a pretty kitty, reach out to info@joyrides.org and a nice volunteer will get back to you asap.
