My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Adoption Pending**
Meet Trudy!

Trudy is a beautiful 5-6 year old spayed, female Schipperke X that just wants to have fun! Trudy was found as a stray by Animal Control and was suffering from some rotten teeth. Trudy has had full dental work and extractions; and while she may have fewer teeth, she feels SO much better!

Trudy is such a great and loving dog. She will need an active family with older kids. She just loves to run and toss her toys or ball in the air. Trudy would make a great walking/hiking partner. And at the end of the day she is content to laydown beside you on the couch. Trudy is housebroken and will stay in her crate although she prefers not to. She rides in the car very well. She is good with most dogs she meets and is currently in a foster home with a young Border Collie her same size. The two of them love to wrestle and tussle. Cats are unknown... but squirrels are a definite no.

Trudy is one smart cookie, and will take advantage if you are not a confident owner. She can be wary of strangers until she gets to know you. She needs an owner willing to provide her with consistent training and expectations. Trudy is very affectionate with the people she knows. It just takes her a bit to check you out at first. Trudy knows Sit, (Lay)Down, and is working on Stay and Recall. Her exceptional senses of hearing and smell make her a great watch dog. At CTAH we try really hard to make sure that our dogs are the right fit for our adopter's lifestyles. Trudy has been introduced to boats, and did remarkably well.

She is up to date on her shots, spayed, and microchipped. CT Animal House will provide the proper adopter with training sessions as she acclimates to her new home. We know that this special girl has a special person out there that will be her perfect match! If you think you are as smart as our Trudy, and have Schipperke, or working dog, smarty-pants experience, please fill out our application. It’s time for Trudy!!

To be considered for adoption you MUST complete an adoption application for CT Animal House so the nice people who take care of me can start the adoption process. Additionally, a check of personal references and veterinarian references will be completed. A phone interview and a video home check is also required. Trudy is such a happy and loving dog and deserves to be with her forever family. If you would like to meet Trudy please go to our website at ctanimalhouse.org and fill out our app. Thank you!
