My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Optimus is a hunk of burning love who has no clue of his size and strength. He thinks, and often acts, like an overgrown puppy. But he is also as sweet as can be so it's hard to get angry at him. This boy is not a dog for a home with easily breakable items out as part of the decor. He's also not for a home if there is an elderly person because he could knock them over easily. He has learned to sit and 'Get Down!', but he still needs reminders often. Edibles on the kitchen counter that stay out need to be in closed containers because he will follow his nose. Optimus is his happiest when with his dog pals, He is fostered with other dogs and is a good sport with all of them, even when they are grumpy to him. When he goes outside he waits at the door until one by one the other dogs come out to play. In his previous foster home he was an escape artist in that he'd climb out of the yard which only had wire fencing, He has not done that in his current home which is post and rail with an electric fence component. Optimus just really wants to be with his humans.

When Optimus joined Kodi's Club, he was heartworm positive and had mange, but both have been treated. He has been neutered and his dew claws removed. Optimus will need Obedience training to thrive in his forever home. He'd do best with another dog friendly dog who likes to wrestle and play a lot. Optimus is crate trained and house broken.

Cats are unknown. No children under 12 since he's such a bull. No tiny dogs, he's just too big a boy and doesn't always understand his strength.

**If you are serious about adopting , you must head to our website at www.kodisclub.org and submit a completed application . We will not do anything without an app. Due to the small size of our volunteer-run rescue, only the approved adopter may be contacted. It is not first come first served, but the best match. Yes, if you are reading this, the dog is available so no need to check **
