Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
My name is Cappy and I just finished up my heartworm treatment. Next week (10/29/09), I will be neutered and will be ready to go to my new home. I have had to be calm and quiet during my heartworm treatment but now I am ready to "live it" up.
My favorite thing in the whole wide world is WALKING . . . sniffing and more WALKING. I love to WALK. If you enjoy walking and exercising, I will be a great companion for you. I haven’t had any formal training but with a little patience, I bet I could learn to heel and all that other obedience stuff.
My foster Mom thinks that the folks that had me before didn’t pay attention to me so it has taken me time for me to warm up and feel safe around humans. My foster Mom says she has seen my trust in humans grow over the last 2 months.
In my younger years, heads would turn when I came prancing down the street. Now that I am older, the white on my face has given me a more distinguished look. Oh, I almost forgot some of my teeth have worn down over the years but that hasn’t stopped me from enjoying my meals.
I am mostly house trained but have accidents every so often. I was raised as an outdoor dog so I need to remember that going potty inside isn’t using good manners. I am learning to bark to signal that I want to go outside.
I currently live with an 11 year old female brittany and 2 young children. I enjoy play with the other dog whenever she will let me. I don’t mind children but I am not really used to being around them.
I stay in the kitchen area while my foster family is at work and school. At night, I go right into my crate and sleep quietly. Sometimes I even like to take naps in the crate or on my dog bed during the day. I don't get up on the bed or furniture.
Now that my heartworm treatment is finished, I am ready to get a second chance at life. I don’t require too much … just a soft place to sleep, attention, food and of course someone that wants to WALK with me. I know you will be happy having me as your buddy. I would love to spend the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday with my new forever family. Please call my foster Mom to learn more about me.
HIstory:
Cappy was a stray and came up from North Carolina.
