Here's what the humans have to say about me:
WE ARE SORRY BUT WE ONLY ADOPT WITHIN THE STATE OF FLORIDA
Murphy is a beautiful Black and White Wooly Husky with fur that is a bit longer than most Huskies and has soft, intelligent brown eyes. She and her littermate sister came to SHRF when their family lost their home and had to move elsewhere that does not accept larger dogs.
While she likes people, she can be shy at first and prefers getting to know you on her terms. She has always lived with other dogs, both large and small, but she and her sister seem not to mind being separated so she can easily be the only dog in the house.
Murphy can be possessive of her food and toys which probably developed when she and her sister were left alone most of the time after her family moved. She may not have known when her next meal would arrive though we were told that someone came to her previous home both in he morning and in the evening.
It would be best if Murphy went to a home without young children since a small child's exuberance can be a little overwhelming to her. She has a very healthy appetite and will eat most anything, but it is always recommended that a quality food is offered to any pet you have. Baby carrots are a favorite of hers and she thinks of them as treats!
Murphy loves walks and does well on a leash, but long car rides are not really her thing. She has easily tolerated shorter trips in the car though.
She loves her doggy bed and will go to it for comfort or when she is tired. She has never been crated and it is not known how she would do in a crate, but since she is housebroken and not destructive, a crate is not needed.
Murphy is healthy, Heartworm negative, spayed and microchipped. Her soft brown eyes will melt your heart so give this beautiful girl the forever home she deserves and fill out an adoption application on our website, www.siberrescue.com, today.
