My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hedwig and Soos, both males, born clinging to the side of a mountain in the driving Virginia rain whilst the wind spun dervishes across the sky on the Ides of March, 2020. Or they may have possibly been born under someone’s porch some unknown date in March 2020. We don’t know. They may be extraordinary wonder kittens or they may be accountants in disguise. Who knows? We do know that this magical pair inspires awe and laughter.

Hedwig, the more outgoing of the two, will talk to you and tell you that you do not know how to make a proper cup of tea. He will also tell you he has a girl’s name, but that is ok with that because he is not hung up with gender stereotypes. He is a sweetie who loves pets and sitting in your lap. He is worried that you might oversleep for your job, so will help you get up in the morning by rearranging the furniture in your living room using nothing but the power of his thoughts. No, he won’t do that, but he will let you know when breakfast is due. He likes to talk (really, he is a talker) however, his vocabulary is limited to “meow”.

Soos, the quieter of the two needs his brother’s company to come out of his shell. He loves tummy rubs and is an expert in the 8 paths of yoga. OK, he is not a yogi, but his foster mom has seen him lift both back feet off the ground at once to clean his private parts. He might not be a guru, but he IS squeaky clean gosh-darn-it. Soos likes looking out the window and dreams of being a juke box hero. He also likes to sleep and will hang out by your side while you dream of being a juke box hero.

Soos and Hedwig have a food sensitivity and are fed Royal Canin Ultamino dry cat food, which requires a prescription from the vet. The boys finish a 5.5 bag of food in about a month. Their food will cost approximately $650 a year. Sometimes food sensitivities disappear when the cat gets older, and sometimes the food sensitivities are with a cat for life. They need to be on the diet now because off the diet they get diarrhea and very itchy. If you have other cats, you will need to make sure that the boys do not eat the other cat's food.

They are neutered and up to date on their vaccines.

If you need magic and wonder in your life, then contact us and we’ll try to make that happen for you in the form of two lost feline brothers in need of a nice home. These crazy dudes are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

To adopt you must first complete an adoption application and meet the cat either virtually or in person in its foster home. We do not do same day adoptions so, generally, we can only adopt within the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
