My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nana is a 5-year-old sweetheart that has been patiently waiting for her forever home for over 3 years. Weighing about 50 lbs, she has the adorable look of a Dalmatian/Terrier mix or perhaps a sweet spotted cow!

Nana’s hugs are unmatched, and she melts for belly rubs, lovingly wrapping her paws around your hand for kisses. She might need some time to warm up, as she can be a bit nervous around new faces. However, once she feels secure with you, she’ll shower you with endless love and affection. Our staff and volunteers who have spent time with her can attest to her sweet nature, as she’s always ready for playtime and snuggles!

Nana needs a superhero adopter—someone understanding with a low-traffic home who can provide a calm environment and allow her the time she needs to adjust. She’s a playful flirt with male dogs but may need some time to build friendships with new canine pals. If you’re looking for a devoted sidekick who could also thrive as your one and only, Nana is ready to be your loving, playful, and occasionally diva-like companion!

To know her is to love her, so please complete an adoption application at www.abandonedpetrescue.org.

More about this shelter

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
