Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
I found a new home! Plenty of my friends are looking for one too. Check out other pets at this shelter, or start a new search.

Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Edgar’s Story 🥹
Intake to FOF 12-14-2020
from Lake Co Animal Control (stray)
Estimated DOB 2016
3.2 lbs on intake, riddled with intestinal parasites 🪱
TLC and proper care…9 lbs within months.
Christmas weekend 2021
Urinary blockage
Vet clinic no. 1 placed catheter to unblock, sent back to us
Next day blocked again
Vet clinic no. 2 placed catheter and kept overnight, sent back to us
Both clinics failed to diagnose cause of blockages
Blocked a third time on Christmas Eve while in care of our director at her home.
No choice but ER vet.
Placed another catheter but FINALLY got diagnosed with ‘snowglobe’ bladder full of stones.
Spent Christmas Eve hospitalized at ER and released to us Christmas morning, complete with catheter still in place.
We had made a call to a vet in Port Huron who told us to get the cat to him asap.
What vet answers calls on Christmas Eve?!!
He saved this cat’s life.
One of our board members made a 6 hour round trip on Christmas Day to get Edgar to Dr Meadows.
Edgar remained in Port Huron for a couple of weeks where he continued to get blocked and finally the decision was made for him to get both bladder surgery to remove the stones and also PU surgery to widen the urethral opening.
Money spent on Edgar: well over $5000
Cats adopted while Edgar has been waiting: 1,299
Edgar is good with dogs, other cats, and kids.
He MUST EAT CD food from Science Diet for life.
Edgar's personality is as sweet as his face! He's a bit of a quiet guy, but also has moments of playfulness. While he is social, especially with food involved, he doesn't demand attention and seems content spending time by himself. Some things cause him to become anxious, like being picked up, but he's overall a relaxed cat. He enjoys playing with stick & string toys and gets the zoomies every morning. He likes to curl up with humans as they sleep. He gets along well with other cats and seems fine with dogs too.
We don’t currently have a cat who is more deserving of a permanent home, than Edgar.
We don’t have a cat who’s waited longer.
We don’t have a cat who was closer to death.
It’s his turn.
