Hi everyone! My name is Maya. I am a Cane Corso pup approximately 8 months old. Would you like to know my story? It doesn’t start out great like most rescues, but thankfully I know the best life is on its way. You see I am officially a part of WTWTA Rescue and they take loving rescue kids like me and my sisters pretty seriously.

So, my journey began when my sisters and I were found along a country road dumped off by our previous owners. I know what your thinking, how could somebody abandon beautiful kids like us…sadly this happens more often then it should. My sisters and I decided to stick together while we were off fending for ourselves near the woods. cause that’s what sisters do. We were better as a pack than separated from one another. Thankfully a Good Samaritan who knows mastiffs saw us and picked us up. They were diligent about where we would be placed and who they would allow to rescue us so we could be kept safe. We arebeyond grateful for that.

You see being an italian mastiff breed, we are a pretty “BIG” deal!….see what I did there :P So they contacted WTWTA who knows kids like us well and are specialized in placing our breeds in the right home. Since being a part of WTWTA we are learning what it feels like to be loved. They took us to get vaccinated. I was nervous at first going to the vet’s, but quickly overcame that and did well. I received all the necessary vaccinations and tests.

Let me tell you I have the most guardian spirit out of my sisters. So It will take me a minute to feel safe and not be on gaurd around humans. However, when I let you in I will give you all of me and sleep in your arms like a baby. When I went to get vaccinated, they arranged for a driver for me. I know what you’re thinking, a girl like me should have a chauffeur. Well, that’s what I thought too. On the way to the vet I was mesmerized by how fast everything was moving. I didn’t want to miss it. While riding, my driver introduced me to Broadway musical but I’ve decided I’m more of a country and Today’s hits kind of gal. What really made me like country was when my driver played ‘Forever Girl’ by Jon Langston. My favorite line was “she’s everything in my whole world, that’s my forever girl.” It gave me hope to know I will be someone’s forever girl someday soon.

After our adventurous drive they arranged for me to have a spa day! Talk about rolling out the red carpet. While in the tub I liked to play a game called “Can you keep me in here?” I won the first round but my stylist was the champ. Can you keep a secret between you and I? I’m actually happy my stylist won. To be treated with such care felt luxurious. I am a luxury kind of lady. Then shortly after I showed off my quick ability to snatch their food off the counter within seconds. They didn’t even know it was gone. I blamed it on my sister. Suckers!

I am still working on potty training and leash training, so you will have to be patient. I am still coming into who I am, and it may take me a while to completely open up and adjust. I am unsure about other dogs and would need some time and folks to go slow with introductions. So if you currently have another dog, we would need to do a meet up to ensure we like each other. I am not sure about small animals so no cats or smalls breeds. I would prefer a nice fenced in yard to play in since I am a giant breed I need room to run! If your wanting a pup with unconditional love then you came to the right place :)

If you are interested in Maya please list her in your adoption application.
