Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Zuko in Henrico, VA
Personality: super high energy, super high Velcro – he will try to take a shower with you. He is very friendly towards other dogs and people, but due to his size, play style and exuberance a home with older dog savvy children and friends is recommended. Zuko likes rough play with other dogs and being chased, where he can show off his speed and agility. Untested with cats. He is very athletic, strong, fast and can jump. Zuko can be impulsive and wants to run to or through anything. Any door, your legs, up your back, anything.
He does eventually settle down and likes to curl up next to a person or another dog. This is when his sweet demeanor shows the most. Zuko also likes to be the center of your attention when he isn’t busy playing with his canine friends.
We think Zuko would do best in a home with at least one other very energetic dog. The more outdoor space he has to run the better. A yard with a high fence is necessary.
Physical characteristics: 8 months old as of 1 Jan 2021, 45lbs, long, lean and tall. He is rather narrow and can fit through surprising small spaces.
Zuko’s extremely long range makes him highly skilled at counter-surfing. Being a puppy, he will put almost anything in his mouth, but isn’t particularly destructive.
He likes toys and chasing balls but is just learning to fetch. Likes playing tug with other dogs.
Zuko is intelligent and eager to please. He is highly food motivated but shows no signs of resource guarding. He knows “sit” but hasn’t been to obedience training yet. He knows his name and will respond to a whistle to “come.” Zuko isn’t very good on a leash, mainly because he tries to run. He does crate well, and a treat gets him in the door with ease. Zuko is a dog that will enjoy and excel at training.
