Drumroll, please!!! The moment you’ve all been waiting for has arrived... Sophia is officially ready for adoption!!! Get those apps in ASAP because this dog is a true GEM!
When we first saved Sophia from the shelter, she was (in medical terms) a hot mess. In addition to being completely emaciated and having an upper respiratory infection, she had SEVERE skin infections (both yeast and bacteria). Everywhere you touched there was scabs and pustules, and her skin was solid black and scaly-looking. With the right medicine and a consistent, healthy diet, her skin has improved.
She is pure perfection - she’s completely potty trained, she’s quiet, calm, super gentle & submissive and incredibly sweet. She doesn't let her age slow her down! She’s still bouncy & playful and has quite the zest for life! She will need to be on meds for life for her arthritis and will need to be on meds for the foreseeable future for her skin (anti-fungal and steroid) - so any prospective adopter has to be ok with this.
Sophia loves going outside, loves playing with small dogs, loves toys, and loves watching squirrels out the window. She is also cat-friendly. She is very timid and will take a while to get comfortable so she needs a patient family who will give her the time and space to feel comfortable.
