Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Carolina is stunning coated shepherd looking for her perfect family. She is about 3 years old, and unfortunately we think her early years were very dark and scary for her. Carolina has come a long way since we first got her, she was humanely trapped by HARTT, and then came to us. She had a lot of fear with new people and a hard time trusting. Now she will happily come up to people and is a very playful and happy girl! She still gets startled by some things, like fast movements. For that reason she would not do well in a home with young children, as she may get spooked.
Carolina has been able to coexist with other large dogs before, but as she's gotten more confident, she has gotten more reactive to other dogs, so we feel she may do best being an only dog. Carolina can still be a little reserved and shy at first, depending on the person, but once she likes you, she LOVES you. Because she gets so bonded to her people, she does have some separation anxiety. She will need a family who is home with her all the time. Someone who is retired or works from home would be the best fit for her.
Carolina loves water and she loves toys! She loves to splash around in the baby pools, so we think she would love to have a pool to swim in! And she has turned into quite the toy hog! If its got a squeaker in it, she will entertain herself for hours! She is a very affectionate and sweet girl once she knows she can trust you. At the end of the day, Carolina just needs a patient family who will show her true unconditional love.
If you can give Carolina an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.com/adoption-form/
We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks.
Thank you for your interest in saving the life of a dog.
