Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Archie is looking for his furever home! Archie is not for amateur hound owners as he is everything a beagle is known for and more. Archie is sweet, loving, smart, extremely playful and outgoing as well as sneaky, hyper and full of beagle trouble (chewing up toys and bones, stealing food, playing keep away with the remote, etc).
Archie went to a possible furever home, but even though they loved him, Archie's youthful beagle antics were a little too much for his parents (his big poodle mix brother loved him though). Since Archie is a young beagle, Archie can be destructive when not given enough exercise, can get over excited meeting new people (he can get some serious air to give you a kiss on the face), and likes to see what he can get into when left unattended (RIP after neuter cone and little red leash).
Archie is now back with his foster mama, Tracy, who says Archie is doing great, but definitely up to some beagle mischief. On day one, Archie already started hoarding and destroying some pup toys, he spilled mama’s diet coke (Styrofoam cups are delish) and is back to playing chase/keep away with his young foster basset brother. Archie does well in a crate (he will go into his crate on his own, is used to being fed in his crate and is happy to spend time in it when his family leaves for work and at night). While Archie does not mind his crate at night, he is a huge fan of sharing a bed.
Archie would do best in a home with a young pup playmate like himself, lots of toys (ones that don’t mind getting destroyed), and an active dog experienced family. Archie is house trained and will go to the back door to be let out when he needs to potty. When in a home with another active pup, Archie’s favorite activity is being chased around the yard with a toy in his mouth. Archie is a little jumpy when excited, so human siblings will need to be a little older to avoid any accidental mishaps while playing.
