My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Approx DOB: September 2020

Sammy (ID#20079) is approximately 9 months old now and he’s growing into quite a handsome young cat. He is mostly white, but has some tiger stripe splotches on his body, as well as a tan splotch on his front right leg that his foster mom ALWAYS thinks is dirt! Sammy loves to play, chase and catch toys, especially his kitty spring toys! He enjoys exploring anywhere and everywhere he can fit, and likes to watch birds and other critters outside. His favorite place to be is on “his” chair by the sliding doors to watch the birds and squirrels eat from the feeders outside. He also loves curling up on furry blankets, so having at least one of those is a MUST for Sammy. He’s such a smart kitty and is currently learning to come when called, sit, lay down, and stay. He started learning these behaviors by watching the dogs in his foster home and he might even think he’s a small dog. Sammy loves dogs, and did well with small critters in the home, just make sure the lids close tightly because he is curious and on more than one occasion was found sharing the hamster’s enclosure (no hamsters were injured)! Sammy would do well in a home with another young or playful cat, a cat friendly dog (he LOVES the dogs in his foster home) or even just a human who has plenty of time to play and interact with him daily. Sammy is still on a prescription diet as he had tummy troubles as a very young kitten, so this may be something to keep an eye on throughout his life. Sammy also has a brother, Willie, and they have been together since kittenhood, but Sammy is really becoming very independent, so it’s NOT a requirement for them to be adopted together. Sammy is not the kind of cat that wants to be picked up and held, but would prefer playing with toys and curling up near you for naps, especially if you have a warm fuzzy blanket for him.

All cats are vaccinated, dewormed, treated with flea preventative, tested negative for FeLV/FIV, microchipped, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption.

Adoption application, phone interview, home visit, and adoption fee required (+ PA Sales tax). Adoption fees are:
Baby (Kittens up to 1 year) = $125
Young & Adult (1-7 years) = $100
Seniors (8+ years) = $80

Please also read our Core Values prior to applying, www.furryfriendsnetwork.com/adopt/our-expectations.

If you are interested in adopting a cat(s), we ask that you complete an on-line adoption application to get the process started. To apply, simply go to www.furryfriendsnetwork.com / Adopt a Furry Friend / Adoption Application. You will receive a welcome email once your application has been assigned to a volunteer processor (this should be within 72 hours of submitting an application). If you do not receive such an email, contact catapplication@furryfriendsnetwork.com. Once your application has been processed (this can take approx. 10-14 days), we will arrange contact with the foster to schedule a time to meet cats you might be interested in. We are an all-volunteer organization and appreciate your patience during this process.
