Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
My name is Emery. Did you know that the name Emery is a dark granular rock used to make abrasive powder? I didn't either until just now ;) I however, am not abrasive at all. I love to mix and mingle and play!
So me and a sweet dog friend of mine were found hanging out on this lady's porch. She called up the peeps at Lucies Project to see if they could take us. They had asked her if she had any safe place to put us until they could come and get us. Unfortunately, she did not. No fence or anything. So, they then asked her to take us to the vet for safekeeping, since Lucies was full at that time.
The technician at the vet said that he lived on the county road that we were found on and he would see if he could find our owners. Surely we belonged to someone! The only thing he could find out was that the people in the area were tired of us chasing their cattle.....oops. We were just having a little fun after all ;)
Our days were numbered, so we sure were glad when Lucies found a space for us :)
I'm very outgoing and I respectfully sit when I want some attention. How about considering me for adoption? I'd love to have a furever home, with a fence of course so I can't wander around :)
*** We strive to ensure our dogs are going to a safe, loving and caring home. Phone interviews are required for all adoptions****

Interested adopters contact our adoption volunteer either via email or phone. Our volunteer in turn talks to them more about the pet they are interested in. If the adopter seems like a good match, they are requested to complete an application. They come to the rescue location to meet the dog of interest. We also sometimes arrange a home visit to make sure the environment is suitable for the dog. If all is well, they will get a call from a volunteer letting them know they are approved for adoption. They will be provided copies of the vaccination and sterilization records. A delivery day will be arranged for the dog. Either the adopter may come and pick up the dog, or a volunteer can arrange to have the dog delivered. They sign our adoption contract and pay the adoption fee. We do periodically contact our adopters to check up on the dog to make sure everyone is happy and healthy and enjoying their new life!

More about this rescue
Local Unity for Canines In Emergency Situations. We are a dog rescue organization, not a shelter or a pound!
We are a group of neighbors who, as a community effort, are helping the many strays and dumped dogs in the area. We take them in, care for them, feed - vaccinate - worm - socialize, and try to find them forever homes. We do depend on donations to help out, and will accept food, medication, bedding, fostering, and direct donations to Veterinarians.
