Here's what the humans have to say about me:
~~2ND UPDATE~~
Unfortunately, Mac has started having seizures. He’s had 3 so far that we know of over the last couple weeks. He’ll be on medication for the rest of his life due to this. (Roughly $60 a month give or take). So now we have another tough issue with getting him adopted, which is why it’s more important than ever to share & get the word out about him!
~~UPDATED POST~~
Mac has been at the shelter for a full 5 months now. He’s had a few dozen people look at him, both adopters & fosters, & he’s been too much to handle for everyone. He’ll need to go with someone who’s VERY experienced with training dogs, especially pits. He’s a great dog with a good heart, but even after months of working with him, while he’s learned the basics, his behavior is still awful. While not quite as bad in a home setting as the shelter, he still has his issues. We’ve reached out to other rescues as well within hundreds of miles to see if he’s have a better chance elsewhere, but so far no luck.
If you know anyone who’s got the experience to tackle this dog, please share or spread the word about him! He deserves a shot at a good life, even if he drives us crazy some days! (& on top of everything else, he’s gotten leg surgery along with his other medical bills that had costed us over $5000 now alone! ). Hopefully we can find Mac a new home before he sits here for another 5 months.
(Also, for his own safety & others, he WILL NOT be able to go to a home that has anyone under the age of at least 13.)

Hi! My name is Macaroni, but you can just call me Mac. I'm a pit/boxer mix, 2.5 years old, 56 lbs, & I have a tan & white coloring.
I'll let you know right now that I can be a VERY stubborn boy! I need a lot of training when it comes to manners, leash-walking, & especially with not using my mouth so much. I'm a super rough player, & my very first instinct is to start biting. Not in a break skin sort of intention, but I've definitely left plenty of marks & bruises on people from how strong & violently I bite. Which is why I wouldn't be good in a home with small kids. I could & would easily injure a smaller person like that without even trying because I get so carried away. I LOVE other dogs, though! Even if I can get a bit rough with them as well, if I have another dog that can match my energy, it would help me calm down a bit during the day as well. Cats is a maybe, but I've been around them before & I did fine, so it should be okay.
I'll definitely need someone who's willing to take an "Leader" role over me. Not just someone looking for a companion! I might be stubborn, but I listen well if I have a strict owner who knows what they're doing when it comes to training & doesn't put up with any BS! I'll easily take on the role of a follower if I have someone who's willing to put in the effort & be my leader. I'm the kinda guy who needs structure, like, a lot of EXTREMELY strict & consistent structure. Not just any old family or owner will do! That's not to say I couldn't be a family dog of course, but I'll definitely need something to keep me busy & kept on a short leash so to speak until I learn my manners. I've never been aggressive with people or anything though, just the opposite! I'm a super snuggly & cuddly guy, I just don't really know how to behave myself is all. I've never had enough structure in my life to really know how! I'm definitely not a dog for the feint of heart, & I'll definitely require a lot of effort, but if you're someone who loves to train dogs or likes to really challenge themselves, I could use someone just like you!
I'm up to date on shots, neutered, chipped, & ready to go! I also tested negative for heartworm. If you're hungry for some pittie lovin', come get yourself some Macaroni!
