My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM: my adoption fee is waived for anyone age 65 or more!

Hi guys! My name is Tiger and I am here in search of my forever home. The people at Paws for Life say that if I can tell you guys a little bit about myself, I might find a forever home to love on me! You see, I came here after I ended up at the shelter because my dad passed away. We had been together our whole lives, and I've been sad without him. I am 17 years old, but don't let that fool you, I'm no old man! The very first day I came to my foster mom's house, I jumped all the way to the top of the fridge and made that my perch. I am spry and I still love to play. The shelter was told that I was an indoor-only cat my whole life, but strangely enough, I did test FIV+. That could be because I was vaccinated for FIV at one time in my life and now I will forever test positive for it, even if I don't have it. My most favorite toy to play with is the red laser dot and my favorite activity is exploring the house. I am down to play whenever you are! I am affectionate and friendly, but I'm independent enough to not be in your face 24/7. I understand you might want some personal space. I'm perfectly happy just to chill next to you on the couch if you'll have me. Did I mention that I absolutely love catnip? My foster mom says you have to see for yourself how much fun I can have with it. I've only ever lived alone with my previous dad, so I'm not sure how I would do with other animals. I think I would prefer to have my human all to myself, besides, I have as much personality as two cats anyway! I promise I can make anyone happy if they give me the chance, but I'm also participating in the seniors for seniors program! That means that my adoption fee is waived for anyone over the age of 65 so we can live out our golden years together. Adoption fee: $75. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip and 30 days of free pet insurance.

NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of cats is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable cats, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each cat or kitten as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our cats based on personality, not by breed label.

Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.
