My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Gretzky is the man! Don’t be fooled by this guy’s senior status, he could pull a carriage if he wanted to! He really does it all, he plays hard, he eats well, and he sleeps like a rock (he’s also an excellent cuddler). Gretzky does have a lot of energy though, so he is hoping his adopters love to go on walks (lots of them).  His perfect adopters would be active, with another dog-friendly dog. An adopter who can spend a lot of time with him would be great, because he loves his people.

Age: 11

Breed: Pug

Weight: 38 lbs

Kid-friendly: Loves kids, but does jump, so we would advise no young children.  He has lived with kids ages 6+

Dogs: He's great with dogs

Cats:  Unknown

Crate trained:  Gretzky does not like being in a crate.  He barks, and blankets covering the crate are not advised.  He can be left in a crate for up to 6 hours, but would prefer to be out and about.

Potty trained: Yes!

Likes:  He LOVES multiple walks a day, being outside, lounging around, eating, and his people!

Health concerns:  Gretzky has a small fatty lipoma under his right arm. Gretzky also has Lyme Disease, but does not show signs of lameness.

Adoption fee: $375

Our dogs receive heartworm and flea/tick prevention the first week of each month, March through November. Dogs that have stage 3 or 4 dental disease will receive a dental procedure in rescue. We aspirate all lumps and remove those that our veterinary partners suggest removing.

Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable).

$50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies, distemper, and bordetella), HW test, blood panel, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.
