To start our adoption process, please fill out our form on our web site at: www.spokanewienerdogs.org and see the Adopt a Dog/Fee page with more details on how we adopt our dogs. There are a lot of questions answered on our web site and personality details below about each dog BELOW so please READ BEFORE getting in touch. We already answer 500+ emails a day. We do answer questions on dogs once our adoption paperwork is filled in so we can match to the right homes.
Please indicate which dog you are interested in on our adoption form. If their name says "pending home" then they are not available and are on a test drive with a new family. We do remove our dogs when our adoptions are final so please do not ask us if dogs are available if you see their ads.
There is an adoption fee of $300 for this dog.
Turbo is about one to two years old and playful. He is shy meeting new folks but he does warm up. He is neutered, crate trained and loves walkies.
He has fear issues and separation anxiety, but is a sweet dog. He needs someone to continue socializing him in his new home after the adoption. We will continue to socialize him with people and dogs until adopted. UPDATE: We are socializing him here and he is now greeting new folks and being very charming with just a few weeks of work. Big dogs are still scary so we are working on that. He is enjoying playing with all our dogs so he is a puppy in need of training, otherwise he is very charming and happy, once he knows folks.
He is mostly dachshund with a tiny bit of chihuahua thrown in and looks and acts like maybe 1/8 chihuahua and the rest is all dachshund brains and charm. He thinks he is a dachshund so there is that with his personality. Just a handsome dog with nice conformation as one of the visitors was remarking today. We could not agree more. He was sold as a purebred of course as a pup but nope.
No kids in the home please when they terrify him. He came to us when he was being protective with children which is typical in this breed so adults only please. So far he has been shy and sweet but we also do not have children here and we speak scared dog. We do not force ourselves on the newbies and let them decompress and settle in on their time frame, not ours.
No cats please but he loves other dogs and doing well with our herd.
He needs a home with a fenced yard and no shared walls and someone to loves playing with toys. I started him on fetching and he is smart and doing great. Just a cool dog!
See our website when we do have requirements to adopt, such as a fenced yard and no shared walls such as condos or townhomes, etc. He came from an apartment and we will not place him back in that situation again when he loves zooming and playing.
