Koda's mom gave birth to 4 puppies at the high kill shelter. She was rescued as a puppy and her rescuer sent her to the private shelter. Poor girl got heartworm at the shelter but that was found in an early stage. For her treatment and socialization, she was sent to the foster home. She has stayed there for more than 7months. At first, she was afraid of everything since she had never lived with people. Travelling with the car, just going out through the door, going into the room, getting on an elevator, crossing a small bridge so on.....
Her foster mom took great care of her and she is now a curious social girl with good manners. She responds calling back, shows no separation anxiety, not a barker, loves petting. She is a mid low energy level dog inside mostly lying down but gets more active outside sniffing and exploring. The adopter has to watch her if she picks up something to eat during the walk.
She is good with adult females and males both, well mannered, and gentle. She does not get too excited when the guest visits. Most of the time, she just approaches the person and smells then comes back. She is quite an independent dog but her heads are towards the owner all the time. She loves tug play or ball play and stuffed toys. She listens and learns what is allowed and not allowed quickly. If she wants to play, she will open the chest drawer and bring the toys! She is trained not to come up to the sofa or bed.
She is good with the kids but does not like them bothering her, of course. She is playful with the other dogs. She is so ready to be a family dog!
Koda is coming to Vancouver on Jan 28th. Her adopting parent must come to the airport for pick up.
Her adoption fee is $800 including tax, inspection fee for both airport and porter fee and tip.
