Daisy is quite a character. Her hobbies are: catnip, boxes, bags, treats, squirrel and bird watching, bathtubs, running, chasing objects and talking. She will award sandpaper kisses to those who have pleased her. She will allow a certain amount of petting on her fluffy belly, but don't go overboard or she'll scream and run away. She also likes to sing while being brushed.
Daisy dislikes other cats and needs to be the only cat in the home.
Daisy was returned by her previous adopter when she developed diabetes. She is now in remission which means she does not need insulin shots. Once in remission, diabetes in cats can be managed by keeping them at their appropriate weight and feeding them only a canned diet. We recommend testing blood sugar once a month for monitoring as cats hide health problems well. She may need to be on insulin at some point in the future. We only adopt to people in the St. Louis METRO area. More about this rescue
St. Louis Pet Rescue is a non-profit rescue group focusing on saving pets from local animal control facilities and other neglect situations.
We do not have a facility. All of the pets we rescue are in loving foster homes. Foster homes provide love, care training, and, if needed, rehabilitation to the pets. This also allows the pet to be more adjusted when they enter their forever home since they are used to a home environment (versus a kennel at the pound).
