This puppy (approx. 6 months) was adopted from Animal Welfare League of Charlotte Co. by our neighbors about 3 weeks ago.We had an appt. to see him but coincidentally they adopted him first. After a week they realized he was too energetic for them and offered him to us. Buck is a sweet dog and has made good progress in the 2 weeks we have had him. He is house trained now and does the “sit” command well for treats and to get leash on, so trainable.
We live in a community with lots of dogs who are always being walked and wild rabbits who are out in the evenings. He bolts on the leash and I am not able to control him well. He does better for my husband, but I am his primary caregiver. He also tries to get to people and bicycles and sometimes jumps up on us in the house. For these reasons I wouldn’t recommend him for small children. We have a small yard and no fence. He would be so much happier with a fenced yard as he loves to be outside as much as possible!
