Shadow was a “house dog” on a breeding farm and, as such, is fairly well adapted. He loves car rides, older children, and does tricks for treats. He’s a sweet, gentle boy who loves attention but he’s also a bit of free spirit who would happily dig an escape route to check out the world so he will need a home with a secure fence and a watchful eye.
Though he gets along well with other dogs the majority of the time, he would be happiest as an only dog because he can be a bit lap protective.
Shadow is a happy, smart, cuddly guy who would love nothing more than to spend his whole day at his owner's side-- riding in cars, being carried around, eating treats, watching tv from the couch, and sleeping in a warm bed at night.
This dog is currently being fostered in Rochester, NY and cannot travel prior to adoption. Meet and greets available in the surrounding area only. Visitors welcome.
PLEASE NOTE: Unless otherwise written, all of our puppy mill survivors will require a secure fenced yard, another small dog in the home, and an experienced owner. Dogs rescued from puppy mills will have started to learn but cannot be expected to be fully potty trained at time of adoption.

We currently adopt in the states of NY*, NJ, Eastern PA, DE, and some areas in MD. We cannot accept applications from other states at this time.

All of our rescues are spayed/neutered, up to date on rabies and DHPP, heartworm tested, treated for worms and fleas and most are microchipped.
We are not a shelter, we are 100% volunteer public charity. All of our dogs are in foster homes until they are adopted. Since we are not a shelter, we do not receive government funding. We are a public charity that relies solely on funds through our adoption fee, fundraisers, and private donations. Since we are 100% volunteer based, all funds collected go directly towards the rescue and vet costs of our dogs.
We take each rescue personally and spend a lot of effort trying to match the right dog to the right family. Thank you for considering one of our rescued dogs.
