My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My daughter adopted Martin as a kitten. His full name is Martin Henry Rutherford (and then my daughter’s last name). He is 8 years old. My daughter went through a divorce and had to move. The places that she could find and afford did not allow pets, so Martin Henry came to live with me. I’m allergic to cats & dogs although I’ve had both and I also have asthma. Martin has lived with me for 3 years now and though it has been difficult with the above mentioned ailments, we have been able to co-exist.

But now things have changed. My son’s work/income has been affected by the pandemic and he and his family will be moving from the Charlotte area back to Bedford, and will be living with me for the next year or so. His son is highly allergic to cats which has lead me to the decision to rehome Martin. This has been a hard decision because with all the animals that we have had over the years, this has always been their forever home. My daughter is saddened by this but understands.
