Update 12/20/20
Toby needs to be an only dog.
This is how he will be happiest!
.Update 11/19/20
Please - READ this dog's bio. Do not apply if you have LARGER (over 10#) dogs. This is a tiny boy who is intimidated by big dogs. Yes, your dogs may be gentle and docile and loving and kind and well balanced etc... but THIS DOG is intimidated and AFRAID. We will not place him in a home with larger dogs.
Toby was discovered to have an umbilical hernia.

Update 10/6/20 - We had a chance to get to know this sweet one a little better. He is precious and almost the perfect dog. He doesn't seem to get along with larger dogs. While he has gained weight - believe to be lost due to his dog bite injuries - he's exhibited signs of being protective of his food from the other dogs.
Change in environment typically results in allergic reaction - subsides after a couple of weeks.

Update 9/22/20: Toby is doing great adjusting with his missing eye. He is able to use stairs - has a little difficulty managing stairs at night to get off the bed, but he just needs time to adjust. He is a lovable little lap dog that just wants to be close to you. He is starting to play - doesn't really play with toys - he kind of acts like he may have gotten attacked over a toy the way he acts. He has started to gain weight. He does love to bark at any noises that he hears and when people come into the house, so he might not be a good fit for apartment dwellers. He is ready for his new family!

This cutie pie comes to us as an owner surrender. It appears that he was attacked by a large dog who may have scratched or had a dog bite of the eye which required eye remover that they were unable to afford. We were able to get him into our vet ASAP. We will update as we know more.
