Bear is one of six pups born to a 45 pound Shepherd mix mom in mid-November in 2020 (see photo of mom). He is the biggest of the litter and only one of two that has a longer, slightly stiff, almost wiry, coat.
All the pups have passed their 10 day quarantine period and have been dewormed. They will get their first "puppy shot" on January 4th, and be ready to go to their new homes on or after January 9th, just after they turn seven weeks old. They have not been altered yet as we like to wait until puppies are four to six months old, so they will be placed on Foster-to-Adopt contracts in their new homes. Their adoption fee is $300, which includes the rest of their shots and the cost of spay or neuter for all adopters who use our local vet. Out-of-town adopters will need to cover these costs themselves, and upon proof of spay/neuter, will receive a $100 refund of the adoption fee to help cover these costs.
We do not adopt puppies of this age to families with children under 8 as they need a great deal of attention and training. If you are interested in one of these puppies, please email us at HPHS@Ymail.com and ask for an adoption application.
