»Jicama is a part of our Foster-to-Adopt Pilot Program – a program custom-designed by staff to support you as this dog is introduced to a new home environment. Ask your adoption counselor how it works.«

Hi! My name is Jicama. My caretakers at RCHS would describe me as being in the BLUE category. Dogs in the BLUE category have great potential and have a lot to offer their new families. Typically, BLUE dogs are wonderful companions, but need training to help overcome fears or frustrations that can make certain situations stressful for them. An ideal adopter is someone that enjoys a challenge and is willing to put in the time, love and training needed for them to manage stressful situations and truly enjoy everything life has to offer! Adopters of BLUE dogs will be provided with the tools and post-adoption support they need to continue the amazing training our staff and volunteers have already started.
Dogs are assigned to color categories using any previous owner notes, general handling, as well as staff and volunteer observations. As we continue to get to know the dogs and gather further insights into their personalities, colors may be adjusted accordingly.

If interested in adopting Jicama, an adoption survey and instructions can be found on our website.
