Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Stella is looking for her furever home! ❤🐾
Stella is a 1 yr old hound mix girl who is 40lbs, 20 inches tall and absolutely gorgeous. Her fur is amazingly soft, her eyes are a perfect honey color and she is all about the snuggles. 🥰🐾
Stella does great on a leash, amazing in public places and meeting people & other dogs while out and about at parks, through the neighborhood and stores (she was a huge hit at Home Depot!). Stella's all time favorite activity is fetch, so she will need to have a fenced in yard and hopefully people with a strong throwing arm or will invest in a chuck it. ❤🥎🐾
Inside the house, she is a people pup who is always 2 steps behind her rescue mama. Stella is not a fan of separation, so she would love a home where she can sleep in bed with her people. In the kitchen, Stella can be a counter surfer and has managed to snag a roll or 2 from the counter when her rescue mom has left them in easy reach.
Since Stella is still a puppy, she can be a little bossy around dogs in new situations, she has never bit another dog, but she has been known to be a little moody, so she would probably do best with a dog sibling closer in size to herself or bigger. Stella is easily corrected in these situations as really wants her people's approval and love. Also, she has never shown any aggression towards any human in any situation.
If a family does want to keep Stella separated, we highly recommend crate training to avoid any destruction in her new home. Even though Stella does not like her crate, we crate her at night and when we leave the house and while she lets us know she doesn't love it (barking), she does calm down within 10 minutes at night.
*Stella did just return from a week in a foster home that does not crate their pups and Stella did great! At night, she slept at the end of the bed all night without issue. During the day when left out with the fosters other pups, Stella was pretty much perfect. Stella did destroy a couple pup toys and some papers, but she did not do any damage to anything else in the home. In the foster home, she was a big fan of the family's big hound boy (135lbs) as well as their playful basset hound.
**Stella was adopted once, but returned due to her extreme separation anxiety which led to some destructive behaviors. We originally posted that we thought Stella would do best as an only dog, but now we believe she would do best with a dog sibling that can help her with her separation anxiety and to help her get out some of her energy while showing her how to properly dog in her new home.
Do you have an active pup looking for an active pup playmate? Do you love snuggling a pup in bed and on the couch? If yes, then Stella is your girl! ❤🐾❤
