My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET ZOE. Zoe is a sweet little senior yorkie who is 12-1/2 years old and now weighs 11.2 lbs. Zoe is being fostered in Vero Beach, FL.
Due to Covid-19 all dogs fostered in the state of Florida must be adopted within the State of Florida.

UPDATED BIO 12/17/2020: Zoe continues to thrive in her foster home surrounded by the love of her foster mom and dad and her two little yorkie sisters in the home. She has lost some weight and will soon be at her healthy weight of 10 lbs.

Zoe has had all of her vaccinations updated and had a dental she only lost one tooth. She also had two mammary tumors removed at the same time and biopsy results are pending. She is almost completed with treatment for the bilateral ear infections that she had when she arrived in UYR. She walks nicely on the leash and really enjoys her walks. When Zoe sees her leash come out, she gets very excited to go out she loves outdoors! Sadly, due to her surrendering owners poor health for quite a while, she hasnt had the experience of being outside in the recent past.

Zoe is a very friendly, quiet and sweet little girlie. She gets along well with the two little female yorkies in her home and doesnt have an aggressive bone in her body she loves everyone she meets and greets strangers as if she already knows them. When she meets other dogs on her walks, she is non-reactive. Zoe enjoys the fenced in area in the back yard where she can roam freely, and that would be a big bonus, but not a deal-breaker. It should be noted that Miss Zoe loves escaping through an open door, so foster mom feels that having an enclosed area is preferred in her adoptive home. Zoe has also experienced going on a trip in the RV with her foster parents, and sits calmly with restraint for travel. She loves car rides as well. House-training is improving, and as long as she is taken outside after meals and her walks she is pretty consistent, but her adoptive parents will need to continue to work with her on house-training.

Zoe may be 12-1/2 years old, but she still has a lot of pep in her step and acts much younger. She is now eating a much healthier diet and her hair and skin should continue to improve. Zoe loves sleeping in bed with her foster parents and her two yorkie sisters and will sleep 8-10 hours without needing to go out. She is definitely a Velcro dog and follows foster mom everywhere she goes; if foster mom leaves the home, Zoe will patiently wait for her at the door - sweet! Zoe's lucky new owner will surely enjoy having a precious furbaby that is easy-going and not demanding in any way. This little princess is only looking for love and attention in her forever home.

PLEASE NOTE: Although we don't have any history of Zoe with children, foster mom feels that she would be okay in a home with children over 10 years old.
