My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MYA is a HOT MESS. It's heartbreaking and enraging to think about the awful life Mya endured. She showed up in early 2020 at someone's house in miserable condition - emaciated, missing most of her fur and covered in fleas and ticks. That nice person took her to the Vet and she got Heartworm tested (miraculously negative), vaccinated, and started on a number of medications for her fleas/ticks, and skin and ear infections. When she came here we continued and added medications. When she was strong enough, she was spayed and had a mammary tumor removed. Then I noticed that her face looked like it was melting and realized that her upper mandible was broken and no longer attached to the roof of her mouth. I feared this poor long suffering angel had cancer and would never get a chance to know love and comfort and joy. But the Vet did surgery and believes it was trauma. GRRRRRRRRRRR. She has had two surgeries to close the hole in the roof of her mouth, but they did not last, and she still has an opening. Still, she does GREAT eating. Mya is now solid and chunky and has all of her hair. She is so funny and goofy and playful and affectionate. WITH PEOPLE. However, because she does NOT like other animals, she must be an only pet in an all adult home. She has great indoor manners. Likes to play fetch. Not a huge fan of walking. Likes to snuggle and wrestle. Mya is also on a special Hepatic diet, Apoquel, Benadryl and Pepcid. Knock on wood she's feeling and doing well. If you are the person who can give Mya the love and forever home she SO DESERVES, please contact Bev at 804-248-3042 or trampsrescue@yahoo.com.

More about this rescue

Tramp's Rescue is an all volunteer organization. We are a small organization that rescues dogs from local animal shelters and other places.

We typically keep around thirty dogs at a time. We provide all necessary medical treatments including spaying or neutering, heartworm, and anything the veternarian recommends.

Once we rescue a dog, that dog will stay with us until he/she finds a good home.

We hold weekly adoption stands at different local stores such as Petco and Petsmart.

We are a non-profit organization dependent on donations to rescue these dogs. We can use any type of assistance you can provide, such as volunteer dog handlers, foster homes for dogs, or donations of food or money
