Here's what the humans have to say about me:
NOV. 23, 2020: We pulled this litter of seven 7 week old puppies from a Shelter who were brought in by their Animal Control Officer at 4 weeks of age, having been abused -- burned, cut, stabbed and kicked. The Shelter still has the Mama and we pulled the Babies once they were healing. They all received their first puppy shots on 11/18/20 and will be due to a 2nd round of booster shots at 10-12 weeks of age. The Shelter did a fantastic job caring for these Fur Angels and they each deserve to live in a safe, loving, caring, furever homes.
NOV. 27, 2020 PUPDATE: Puppies are approximately 8 weeks old. Most pups had parvo virus when confiscated from their house of horrors environment but was dormant (no symptoms) until this week. All puppies have been treated by our vet hospital since Nov. 27th.
Since being treated and released from the vet hospital TROOPER lives in our home rescue and now receives oral antibiotics and vitamins. He spends his time playing, eating, sleeping and watching tv with another pup in our spare bedroom, keeping them quarantined from all other puppies and dogs for 2 weeks. TROOPER is sweet boy with pretty eyes, playful, a bit shy, affectionate and loves to be talked to and sung to, medium energy, healthy and happy! He is 85% house trained with pee pads and he is free fed with the other puppy to prevent food protection or aggression. He knows his verbal and hand commands for 'sit' and 'stay' and will be learning 'off' to not jump on anyone or anything (squirt bottle with water correction). TROOPER will be ready for adoption as of December 12, 2020.
PUPPIES HEALTH AND ADOPTION NOTES: The HEALTHY pups who are ready for adoption as of DECEMBER 12, 2020 are being listed for adoption separately. These pups, along with our other puppies and dogs are being cared for here at Puppy Dog Ranch, our Las Cruces home rescue & sanctuary. We are currently on lock down with very limited hours by appointment. Saturdays are best for us.
Our adoption requirements will require each dog at time of adoption to receive any vaccinations due and to be microchipped. Males must be neutered at 4-6 months; Females must be spayed at 4-6 months with a copy of vet bill/receipt as PDR proof of such. We also require a fenced yard with locking gate. Families with children -- children must be at least 8 years old.
Please call Laurie West at (575) 313-7232 with questions or to request an adoption application to be emailed to you. Our hours are very limited and appointments are best on Saturdays for an outdoor meet-n-greet in a secured fenced yard. It is important that you are pre-qualified for adoption prior to a meet-n-greet and a subsequent 3 day sleepover prior to adoption. Our Email: puppydogranch@rocketmail.com www.facebook.com/puppydogranch.
PDR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity (FEIN#26-4655895), no-kill, no cage, all volunteer rescue, which operates from our two home rescue/sanctuary ranches established in Arenas Valley in 2009 and expanding to a second home rescue in Las Cruces in 2019. We rescue the unwanted, discarded, homeless, abused, abandoned, neglected, senior and special needs dogs and puppies in southwest and southern New Mexico.
