Hello we are Yuri and Ruby! We are best friends and was raised together as puppies and we are now 2 years old. Our owner surrendered us to a rural high kill shelter here in NC due to hardship and we were terrified. The shelter ladies contact our rescue and said we were huddled in a corner in the kennel and scared to death and needed out asap. We were pulled and came into rescue but they did not have a foster willing to take both of us so we are now at Doggie Daycare/Boarding. We have learned to trust the ladies who works there but are still shy and submissive to new people at first. We do not have a mean bone in our body we are just scared and have no idea why our past owner took us to the shelter and didn't come back. Ruby is a Lab mix and 50 pounds and I am an Australian shepherd mix and 42 pounds. My rescue took us to the vet and my best friend Ruby is low heartworm positive. She has been started on Doxy and heartguard and is doing slow kill since she is low positive. She will retest again in 6 months and should be negative by then per the vet. If by some chance she isn't our rescue will pay for her meds and retesting for whoever adopts us. We are very bonded and Ruby looks up to me and follows me lead. We sleep together, eat together and play together and we must be adopted together. My rescue promised the shelter we wouldn't be separated and that was the wish per our previous owner. We have been overlooked and passed by since there is two of us but I told Ruby someone will come for us that will love us forever and let us live inside and watch tv and lay on the sofa. Christmas is coming soon and we hope to be in a home by then so we can enjoy the Christmas lights and all the love. Please share us and contact our rescue if you can give Ruby and I a loving forever home.
Love
Yuri & Ruby.
