Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet Carnelian, a super-soft orange and white creamsicle kitten who is FeLV+. She is a four month old female, spayed and up to date on vaccines pending a rabies shot. She is sweet and affectionate, and loves to lick fingers and hands when getting pets or chin scratches, but never bites or nibbles! She is very mellow and loves to curl up in bed or on the couch, but is still playful when introduced to toys, her favorite being "flyer" type with plushies or feathers at the end of a string. She has a loud purr and will sometimes vocalize at dinner time, but is otherwise quiet and content to just have a nap near her people. Despite her condition she is in wonderful health, had there not been a slight abnormality during her spay we would never have suspected she had any illness. Before she needed to be quarantined due to her positive feline leukemia diagnosis, she adapted well to introduction to our two adult cats and younger foster brother, all of whom she would cuddle with and groom regularly, but she has always been particularly fond of her sister Opal, who is also FeLV+. Ideally, we would like to see her adopted with her sister Opal, or be adopted into a home that already has a FeLV+ cat or cats.
She is not shy or timid around new people, but has never been around dogs or small children. With her very calm demeanor we believe she would do fine in a home with children or dogs who would be gentle and respect her boundaries.
