My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

“Asshole.” “A not so nice dog.” “A drama king.” “A curmudgeon.” (Yeah, I had to Google that word, too.) 🤷‍♀️ These are all descriptors of this cute old man...
But in other words, meet Archie! While he may be an old goon, he has lots of redeeming qualities. Archie does great in the car, does well on leash, loves to go on walks, loves other dogs and cats, and is extremely food motivated. He’s kind of like a cat though... he has “off limits” areas that he doesn’t want to be touched in (i.e., under his chin, his feet, and anywhere remotely close to his booty; the belly is hit or miss!) So basically, he likes to be petted on the top of his head. Oh, and did I mention he isn’t potty trained and has no intentions of ever being potty trained?

Archie has limited vision and only three legs. He’s definitely a very special boy. Archie needs a home with very few or no stairs.

Archie’s ideal home would have NO children under the age of 12. He needs a patient adopter. He’d be fine as an only fur child but would also do fine with other fur siblings. He enjoys sitting in his Foster mom’s lap (but just don’t touch any of the “off limit” areas). He does need to be fed separately though because he is very protective over his food (people better not get near his food bowl either!) An apartment setting would not be good for him because he can be talkative.

While Archie may be a grump, he still would like a human to bond with and love him in his golden years. He just needs that special person that understands his unique needs. Medically, he needs apoquel (allergy meds) daily and medicated baths 1-2 times per week.

Archie is currently in a foster home in West Tennessee. If you are interested in adding him to your family, please complete an application at www.goofyfootrescue.org. Transport is available to middle Tennessee, East Tennessee, Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
