My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boomer used to belong to a family that kept him in a pen with a dog house since he was a puppy, and he is about 4 years old now. Recently he went to live with a new family that owned two other basset hounds, and he enjoyed playing with the two hounds as well as a border collie. Boomer fit in well with his new doggie friends, as well as teenage children, and adults. However, Boomer is not cut out for country living and is now part of the Helping Hands Basset Rescue pack.
Boomer is very outgoing and active, but does become bored easily and will begin to tear up pillows, blankets, toys, clothing, etc. if he is left in the house without a proper chew toy. Boomer is housetrained, up to date on his shots, neutered, and microchipped. He will play fetch occasionally, loves to have his ears scratched, and catching a nap in the sunshine.

Boomer's playful spirit has gotten him into some trouble out on the farm. He was caught running a horse, cavorting with guineas that were none to happy to see him, and even ran off with a baby goat. Therefore, Boomer would probably do best in a home with only other dogs his size to play with and a family with lots of extra love and time to spend with him.
