My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Peppermint Patty is an energic, fun loving kitten. And she's just as affectionate as playful. She was saved from living conditions she probably would not have survived. And good for her, Peppermint Patty will have a good life in a loving home.

C.A.T. Rescue is foster based. We show our adoptable pets at PetSmart Creekside Mall cat adoption center afternoons on Saturday and Sunday, 1-4pm. Cats and kittens may be viewed during store hours at the everyday adoption center, however if we aren't there, an appointment will need to be made to sit with the cat or kitten, Or make an old fashion phone call to ask questions at 830-237-2002, Appointments to meet and greet a cat or kitten can be made, just contact us at CatAlliesofTexas@gmail.com for an adoption application and your questions to sped the adoption process once you have chosen a cat or kitten.

The adoption fee is $100 for a kitten and $80 for an adult, which is a small contribution towards the cost of vetting, other medical care, and nutritious food, and more. Payment is by cash.

C.A.T. Rescue does our best to get these kittens off to a good start. As much time as needed is spent helping them gain good health. Many had stray moms struggling to survive. We do our best to treat and rid kittens of intestinal parasites, coccidia, giardia, upper respiratory, as well as ear mites, fleas. All adoptables are spayed/neutered , microchipped and up to date on shots as their age permits. Most 4 month olds will be complete on all boosters and vaccinations.

Kittens are Not routinely tested individually for felv/fiv. Refer to following article for an explanation https://www.uwsheltermedicine.com/library/resources/why-are-some-shelters-no-longer-testing-all-cats-for-felv-and-fiv If they were received as babies with mother, she is tested and you will be given her results. All medical records for each kitten will be provided with their adoption.

C.A.T. Rescue is not a shelter, we are foster based private non profit. We receive no public monies to offset cost. Your adoption fee is a small contribution towards the care and vetting of each kitten. Rescues are not breeders, the animals rescued often come from very poor circumstances.

The rescue-adoption process is a 2 step partnership. Step 1: Our responsibility is to improve the condition and health of each cat/kitten, and vet as completely as their age permits. Step 2: Your responsibility is much greater, it is to continue the care of this kitten and provide veterinary care on a routine basis and as needed. You will socialize and help this kitten grow up into your family. No kitten will be perfect, all will make mistakes or need extra attention. Suddenly being uprooted from littermates or friends and taken to a completely strange place can be very stressful to a young kitten or cat.

Be sure you are committed to this pet and a 15-20 year relationship. If you cannot commit to any pet for its entire lifetime, then consider fostering with a local shelter, It saves a life and enriches yours. We all go through times in our lives when owning a pet isn't practical. Uprooting a pet from a 'permanent' home is extremely harmful to the pet. Fostering can enable you to love a kitten/cat while preparing them for a permanent home.

Appointments can be made to meet and greet our cats with a completed, approved application please send a message by making an Inquiry or emailing CatAlliesofTexas@gmail.com. Cat Allies of Texas Rescues' mission is focused on cats of Comal county. Our vision is to keep cats out of shelters, place adoptable cats and kittens in a home, reduce stray and feral populations through TNR. Help colony caregivers manage and care for their cats. C.A.T. Rescue will offer, when possible, humane assistance to all animals in need.
